On 3rd December 2025, students from LAMS, specifically those in JHS 2 and JHS 3, embarked on an exciting and educational trip to the Parliament House of Ghana. The visit was part of the school’s effort to give learners practical exposure to national governance and deepen their understanding of civic responsibilities.
From the moment the students arrived, their enthusiasm was clear. Many were eager to see firsthand how laws are made and to experience the atmosphere within one of Ghana’s most important national institutions. The group was warmly welcomed by parliamentary staff, who guided them through the premises and provided valuable explanations about the history, function, and structure of Parliament.
One of the highlights of the trip was the opportunity to observe parliamentary proceedings. Students watched Members of Parliament debate national issues, a rare and insightful experience that helped bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world governance. Their teachers reported that many students asked thoughtful questions throughout the tour, showing genuine interest in how the nation is run.
The visit ended with a group photo and reflections from students, many of whom described the trip as both inspiring and eye-opening. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of civic education and the role young people play in the future of the country.
Overall, the excursion to Parliament House was a successful and enriching experience for the JHS 2 and 3 students of LAMS, one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact.
