On Friday, 21st March 2025, the grounds of Lovely Arms Montessori School (LAMS) came alive with vibrant colors, infectious rhythms, and the rich cultural expressions of Ghana and beyond during our much-anticipated Culture Day celebration. This event was more than a showcase — it was a beautiful journey into the heart of tradition, unity, and learning.
A Parade of Traditions
The day kicked off with a stunning Cultural Fashion Parade, where students proudly walked the runway dressed in traditional attire representing the diverse ethnic groups across Ghana. From rich kente cloth to beaded accessories, each outfit told a story of heritage and pride. The energy, confidence, and joy displayed by the children were truly heartwarming.
Performances That Spoke to the Soul
LAMS students dazzled parents and staff with cultural performances that highlighted the unique customs of various tribes. The air was filled with excitement as students danced to traditional beats, recited meaningful poetry, and delivered engaging storytelling performances. Each act brought a new dimension of culture to life, leaving the audience both entertained and inspired.
A Feast for the Senses
No cultural celebration is complete without food, and the Food Fair did not disappoint. Parents, teachers, and students indulged in an array of traditional dishes—from local beverages like Sobolo and Pito to food like waakye, Kenkey and more. It was a true culinary tour that offered a taste of Ghana’s incredible diversity and the flavors of neighboring cultures.
Learning Through Experience
The event wasn’t just fun — it was deeply educational. Interactive Educational Booths were set up around the school, offering hands-on learning about various ethnic groups, their languages, customs, crafts, and histories. It was a brilliant way to engage young minds and foster appreciation for different cultures.
